In advance of our Annual Meeting scheduled for November 19, 2022, the Nominations Committee of the Alliance is seeking candidates for Officers and Directors for the 2023-2024 term (2 years). Any Individual Member who is in Good Standing according to the bylaws may be eligible to be nominated as an Officer or Director.
The current Nominations Committee and the Board of Directors know some of our allies but we don’t know everyone. Self-nomination is encouraged! We ask you to consider the following questions to see if you might be a candidate for Board Membership.
- Would you like to be part of the ERA-NC leadership; building upon the national momentum and working to make North Carolina the 39th state to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment?
- Are you willing to represent the ERA-NC Alliance, be visible in your community and in the state as an advocate for equal rights regardless of sex, and urge the NC General Assembly to ratify the ERA as well as pass a State ERA for North Carolina?
- Are you willing to participate in virtual monthly Board of Director meetings, serve on committees as possible, promote the purposes and objectives of the Alliance and help manage the business, property and affairs of the Alliance?
If you are willing to put your name in nomination for a Director or an Officer, please submit a brief bio (4-5 sentences) with photo (preferably jpg or png, larger than 1MB), indicating which position you are seeking, to Ann Von Brock, alvonbrock@gmail.com by September 18, 2022.
Please check that your membership in the ERA-NC Alliance is current. Visit the Join Us page to become a member, or renew your membership. More information on the Election Process and membership can be found on the Alliance’s web site.
Thank you so much for your support of the Alliance. We are only as strong as the number of people willing to speak up and advocate for equal rights. 2023 will build on the historic national momentum built in 2022 for the Equal Rights Amendment. We need significant energy and commitment to make the ERA a reality!
